Common questions

Does it need an internet connection?

No, and it cannot use one. The Android release build does not request the INTERNET permission at all, so it is technically incapable of making a network connection. It is built to work at the table, with no signal.

What happens to what I type in?

It stays on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking of any kind. Saved scenarios, your theme choice and the keep-screen-awake setting are stored locally and never leave the phone. Full details in the privacy policy.

Why is it a paid app?

One purchase, no ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases, and nothing to sell because nothing is collected. Paying once is what keeps it that way.

Which game is it for?

Any 28mm skirmish wargame that resolves attacks with a pool of D6 against a hit skill, a save, and normal/critical damage. You enter your own values — the app ships no rules content, datasheets or stat profiles.

How accurate are the numbers?

Shooting probabilities are computed exactly, not simulated, so the same inputs always give the same answer. Melee resolves a fight round by round with choices at each step, which has no closed-form answer, so those figures come from a large simulation and can differ by a fraction of a percent between runs of the underlying maths.

Where does the maths come from?

It is a direct port of two long-standing open-source calculators released into the public domain — KT21Calculator by Jacob Egner and ktcalc by John Farrell — and is checked against them by an automated parity test suite.

Is it on both stores?

Yes. It is listed as KTCalculator on Google Play and KTCalculator+ on the App Store; the plain name was already taken there. Same app.
